Today’s Tip: It’s okay to say hello when calling someone you don’t know.

It happened again.

Phone rings. I answer with Hello, This is Victoria.

The caller asks a question.

No introduction. No explanation of the reason for the phone call.

It was straight to the question. Insistent and demanding. Mmmmmmmmm.

My response? Ask for the caller’s name and for her detailed information.

Because I wanted to help the person on the phone, not the blurter with questionable phone manners.

It’s okay to remember that people aren’t Google.

It’s okay to remind yourself that texting and calling requires different mindsets and to adjust accordingly.

It’s okay to say hello first when calling someone you don’t know.
